We all know students gets lots of breaks and holidays. Luckily I am still a student and after the mid semester exams, I took a 5 day hiatus to visit my good friend down in Sydney. Didn’t visit many places, but I pigged out big time. Here are some quick snaps of some of the food I got to eat down there, all of which was far better than Brisbane food.

BSA is holding an all-you-can-eat Sukiyaki lunch for their members. Those who are members can attend for only $15. For those who do not know what Sukiyaki (すき焼き), it is similar to the chinese/korean hotpot or steamboat, but instead of light soup base with dipping sauce, there is no sauce for sukiyaki since the soup is really strong in flavour. Typically the ingredients include sliced beef and vegetables such as Shitake mushrooms.

After work today, I headed down to the Gold Coast with a few friends and my other half for ramen. Have had a craving for Japanese ramen for quite sometime now but did not get a chance to go. This store down at the coast has only 4 things on the menu, which gives you little choice, but makes it very simple to choose your meal. This might be a disadvantage in most people’s eyes, but I see it as something quite hard to achieve for a business. The product must have to be awesome in order for it to become so popular that the store can survive on the 1 meal.

Snagged this off Dannychoo.com and found it very interesting. ’外人’ or ‘gaijin’ while visiting and dining at a sushi train in Japan, placed their digital camera on the conveyor and recorded the reactions of the people eating on the conveyor when they saw it.
